The Current State of the TAV Times: What is its Attraction Value to Students?
As it stands, the TAV Times is simply an attractive way for students to gain experience that they can put on their university application or their CV. There is little incentive for students to put a large amount of work into their content because they are not receiving a grade, nor compensation.
Incentive Analysis
The largest issue that the TAV Times faces each year is that the students do not have enough incentive to create and submit high quality content. The only thing they are getting in return is their name beside an article. However, what if the incentive was to gain real cash for their work? The quality of their work would increase.
Paid Promotion
With the realistic proposition-value that our news-magazine has over 1,000 readers per issue (plus more if we include their parents and relatives, staff and teachers), also including the fact that these readers are young, potential clients, local businesses will be intrigued to advertise with us. Therefore, we propose that the TAV Times shifts to a paid-promotion program and the revenue we collect from the clients will be equally distributed among the TAV Times staff members as an incentive program.
What Burden Would the College Bear?
The College will simply need to assist the TAV Times with payment processing services for any clients who want to advertise their services.
